Kat eats local

I love food and try to eat local for a variety of reasons: economic, political, social, environmental. I’m a member of Karma Co-op and also like to shop at Fiesta Farms and The Big Carrot, and I make my way up to the Green Barns Market whenever I can. Seeking out local food experiences is a big part of how I travel, too. You can also find me at twitter.com/kattancock, kattancock.com and kattancock.tumblr.com.

As a working journalist I often receive samples and event invitations so that I can try new products and experiences. While this access might contribute toward editorial coverage choices (eg., I might write about an ingredient because I heard about it via press materials), all opinions are my own.

As a travel writer, I often take trips whose costs are covered by the destination. Again, while this might help me decide what to write about, opinions are my own and I will not positively review a destination or experience I wouldn’t endorse to a friend offline.

This site contains affiliate links to online retailers such as Amazon, via which I receive a small commission on any eligible purchases. I’ll let you know if this ever makes me rich, but I doubt it.

    Hey Kat,

Did you know that Monforte Dairy (new dairy to be built in Stratford) is 99.83 miles from Toronto!
