Kat eats local in Toronto

I love food and try to eat local for a variety of reasons: economic, political, social, environmental. I’m a member of Karma Co-op and also like to shop at Fiesta Farms and The Big Carrot, and I make my way up to the Green Barns Market whenever I can. You can also find me at magazinesonline.wordpress.com, twitter.com/kattancock, kattancock.com and garrisoncreekpark.wordpress.com.

Getting and learning to use a decent camera is on my to-do list for 2012. In the meantime, I take most of my photos on my iPhone. Forgive me.

    Hey Kat,

Did you know that Monforte Dairy (new dairy to be built in Stratford) is 99.83 miles from Toronto!

Definitely 100-mile! I’m excited for my cheese vouchers…

Kat, I came across your article on edible, great article and I’m really happy to see that someone like yourself is spreading the raw food lifestyle. I am a certified raw food chef, and have a business to cater home-delivery raw meals to my clients. My passion is making delicious, healthy foods for everyone and I’m glad you and others are discovering and spreading and benefits of raw. Peace, jin
